Miscellaneous state printed materials, 1910-1962.

Consists of miscellaneous printed materials, 1910-1962, issued primarily by various New York State committees, departments, and commissions concerning state-related issued. They include "State and Local Government in New York", issued by the New York State Constitutional Convention Committee; "Now or Never"; a report issued by the New York State Conservation Department (1960); "Governor Smith Memorial Dedication" (1950); "Four Steps to Better Government of New York City - A Plan for Aciton", the organizational structure of the government of the City of New York; and "Rebuilding our Cities for Everybody: a national conference", issued by Housing and the New York State Committee on Discrimination in Housing (1956). Also included is the preliminiary 1959 annual report of New York State Comptroller Arthur Levitt, and several progress reports by the Power Authority of The State of New York on the Niagara-St. Lawrence Power Projects (1959-1960).

At least seven of the signers who were paid here may be found in Thomas L. Cook's Palmyra and Vicinity as prominent citizens (Palmyra, 1930; see index). Some also appear in Backman, The First Vision (SLC, 1980). Of one of these, for example who tried to help Martin Harris borrow money to print the Book of Mormon, we obtain some interesting background in Backman's work, pp. 30, 37 (regarding Henry Jessup).
